Can I see what a description, price or discount said before it changed?
Yes, from the day you install Actorly. It keeps the old value and the new value for each change it records. It cannot show changes from before you installed it.
How do I see who changed a product?
Open the change in Actorly. For product changes, it shows who made it when Shopify reports it, always beside how sure it is. Where Shopify records nothing, it says Unknown and never fills that in later. For the first day, a product change reads Not attributed yet.
Can I put back something a staff member edited by mistake?
For select fields, one at a time: a product's title, status, vendor, type, description, theme template or tags; a variant's price; a collection's title, description or sort order; a location's name; a market's name; a file's alt text; a shipping profile's name. Actorly checks the field has not changed since, asks you to confirm the exact value, writes it, then reads your store again to check it took. If a check before the write fails, nothing is changed. If the check after the write cannot confirm the value, Actorly says so and asks you to look at the field in Shopify. It does not restore a whole store, work in bulk, or bring back deleted items.
Which parts of my store does it watch?
Products and variants (including prices), inventory, collections, discounts, shipping profiles, locations, markets, themes, store settings, orders, files and more. Some kinds, such as pages, menus and files, are re-read on a schedule because Shopify sends no change notice for them: weekly on Watch, daily on Restore. Will it always tell me who did it?
No. Who is shown for product changes, when Shopify reports it. For many kinds of record Shopify gives no one a record of who, so Actorly can tell you what changed and when, but not who. It says Unknown rather than guess.
What does it cost?
Actorly Watch is free: three months of change history, and one restore in the last 30 days. Actorly Restore is $29 a month or $240 a year, for unlimited history and unlimited restores. Billing is Shopify's, and there is no trial. Seeing is free; fixing costs.
Can I see changes from before I installed it?
No. The record starts when Actorly is installed.
Is this an audit log?
No. Actorly records the changes Shopify makes visible to an app, with the old and new value. It cannot see everything, and it shows who only for product changes, when Shopify reports it. The Coverage page lists what it cannot see.
Is Actorly a backup?
Yes, of what changed: it keeps the old value of each change it records, from the day you install. It does not copy or restore a whole store.
Does it add anything to my storefront?
No. Actorly adds no scripts, theme code or app blocks to your storefront. It works in the background from Shopify's change notifications, plus scheduled checks for the kinds Shopify does not announce.
Is there a free trial?
No. Actorly Watch is the free plan, with no clock.
Does it use AI?
No. Recording a change and working out who made it are done by fixed rules.
